In the summer of 2019, while exploring Indonesia, Tim & Claudia (with Claudia hailing from Java, Indonesia) stumbled upon small woven art studios. Recognizing the incredible potential, they struck up conversations with the artisans and realized they could bring their designs to life.

Since then, the German brand Soeji has been on a mission to create an exquisite range of products based on traditional patterns. With sustainability at their core, they've curated a small yet beautiful collection of wares, which became available to a wider audience in June 2020.

Soeji's commitment to sustainability is impressive. Their home and fashion accessories are crafted using only natural, eco-friendly materials that might otherwise have been discarded as waste or considered weeds in Indonesia. They work hand in hand with skilled Indonesian artisans, providing jobs for rural communities, particularly benefitting seniors who can no longer work in agriculture.

Their close collaboration with local small-scale producers, eliminating middlemen and long communication chains, enables them to ensure excellent working conditions, fair wages, and precise traceability of raw materials.
